Respite Care NDIS Short Term Accommodation

Respite Care NDIS or Short Term Accommodation and Aged Care

Respite Accommodation With High Quality Care & Access To On-Site Allied Health Services. Quality Short-Term Accommodation. NDIS usually adds respite or Short-Term Accommodation funding to your plan to help you achieve your goals. AD Health Care is a NDIS provider and does not charge extra outside of your NDIS funding. You can choose the length of stay at our Short-term accommodation based on your goals and funding.

Respite or NDIS Short Term Accommodation can be a great tool to grow your independence, build relationships, try new things and yes, even take a bit of a break from the people you live with. This is especially true when it comes to adults with disabilities. Often we live with our parents longer than our peers who don’t have a disability. It can be a long journey to go from living at home to complete independence and often respite is seen as a series of stepping stones that can help you reach your independence – whatever that looks like for you.

When it comes to Short Term Accommodation or respite, a lot of people assume it’s a service for the carers, but respite is very much something that can have positives for everyone, including you

Considering our specialization in disability care, we provide rooms and services fully accessible to disabled persons and inclusive of their specific needs in Westmead & Liverpool. You can use our services here for a short stay or extend it further to a medium or long-term accommodation as per your needs.

AD Health Care intends to create an environment as safe and comfortable as home. We take care of essential services like laundry, cooking, and personal care. Our caregivers are also informed of your medical needs to take care of your medication and medical appointments. Social events are organised to help you gain confidence and boost socialisation, and the caregiver accompanies during all these events if required. We believe that staying and living a routinised life can make activities redundant and boring. A change of environment and habits can boost independence, learning skills, and functional capacity

We have recognised the difficulties involved in caregiving and the differential challenges specific to disability care. Hence, we offer the opportunity to caregivers to take a break from their work and provide a safe, inclusive, and accessible environment to their loved ones.

We always have qualified support workers available at the centre to meet your needs.

Before you make a decision on where you will live, we invite you and your family to visit the property, chat to our team and see the AD Health Care Lifestyle in action.

FAQ
How does respite care work in Australia?

When you receive residential respite, you are entitled to the same care and support services as permanent residents of the aged care home. For example, you will be given a room and hotel-type services such as meals, laundry, and social activities, as well as services to meet your personal and care needs.
In Australia, the government provides a subsidy for up to 63 days of respite care per financial year.

NDIS Short Term Accommodation
Short Term Accommodation, including respite, is funding for support and accommodation for a short time away from your usual home. It covers the cost of your care in another place for up to 14 days at a time. You might have a short stay with other people, or by yourself.  The NDIS typically funds up to 28 days of respite short-term accommodation; however, the scheme may fund medium-term or long-term accommodation depending on your and your carer’s needs.

Short Term Accommodation includes:

  • personal care
  • accommodation
  • food
  • activities you and the provider agree to.
